It began on October 6, when 2nd ranked USC was upset by Stanford. It continued as California, South Florida and Boston College all lost while holding down the number 2 ranking in all three College football polls.
We now welcome the Oregon Ducks to the pity party. The much maligned, often underachieving Arizona Wildcats defeated the Ducks 34-24 in a Thursday night ESPN showing. The ducks had come out flying down the field behind the dashing play of quarterback Dennis Dixon. The talented Heisman candidate injured his left knee on an option play in the first quarter. Arizona , playing at home, took over the momentum from that point on. They played inspire football and held on to upset the Ducks, who were in position to be a part of the BCS Championship game against LSU if every thing played out according.
Kansas.....ranked 3rd in the BCS poll will most likely move into the number 2 spot. But the Jayhawk stay may very well be short lived as they end the season against Missouri and Oklahoma. Can you say playoffs???? We'll save that one for another post.
