The "Association"....Sure can put on a Show!

Say what you want about the NBA All-star game.   The naysayers are always yakking about no defense....up and down the court...undisciplined basketball...too much one-on-one...ghetto ball.

Well, well....

It seems this type of basketball is very entertaining to the masses.

The "Association"....rocked last night. times it may have seemed like a rap concert...on a basketball court...but the end result was a magnificent show of skills by the best athletes on the planet.

Atlanta.....This Could Have Been Us

It should have been us....Excuse us if we're are still somewhat bitter.   But...

The ATL  should have represented the NFC in the Super Bowl just played.   We came up 10 yards short.

There is no doubt in my mind...our Atlanta Falcons...would have prevailed over the Baltimore Ravens.

They matched up better than the 49ners.   More weapons...more speed. we say here is ...what it is.

We congratulate you,  Baltimore.

Enjoy your moment:

R.I.P.....Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner

A little late...but let us pay our respects.

From GaPeach913:

Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner, Dead at 70

Leroy "Sugarfoot" Bonner, the front man for the 70's group Ohio Players has died. He was 70 years old.

The Ohio Players official Facebook page released this official announcement:
Dateline: January 26, 2013 – Dayton, OH

Official Family Announcement of the Passing of Leroy Sugarfoot Bonner

Yesterday, Leroy “Sugarfoot” Bonner passed away quietly in his hometown of Trotwood-Dayton, OH. While his family, friends, colleagues, and fans mourn his passing they celebrate fondly his memory, music, and legacy.
Sugarfoot, or Foot, or Sugar, was the founding and cornerstone artistic talent of OHIO PLAYERS and the face and sound of the OHIO PLAYERS brand, which he knit together and launched in 1964 with former members of The Ohio Untouchables. With a career spanning 56 years, he passed barely short of his 70th birthday.
Humble yet charismatic, soft spoken and of few words, the weight of his thoughts, lyrics, and music has influenced countless other artists, songs, and trends. He will be missed but not forgotten as his legacy and music lives on. More details and an official historical perspective of his career will soon be forthcoming.

His Facebook page is available to all to post comments, reflections, and testimonials of this wonderful and gifted man:

Thoughts...on a Super Sunday

We're back!   With apologies to our faithful readers...we...or should I say "I"....have been a little busy during that past couple of weeks.

Still excuses.....So let me share a few thoughts on the day of the 47th Super Bowl.

Five things ...I think ...I think:

#1.   I am still bitter...not over it yet...The Atlanta Falcons should be playing in this game tonight.

#2.   Everybody should back off on Beyonce!  What's the big deal if she lip-sincs the National Anthem?

#3.   My grand daughter is so 10 months.

#4.   I have "unfriended" people on FaceBook ...because of their hatred for President Obama.

#5.   Are you as tired of the pre-game I am?

Are we getting old...or what?   I have seen every Super Bowl ever played.  I can even remember the very first one.   In Tulane Stadium.....Green Bay versus Kansas City.   It was televised by both CBS and NBC.  The stadium was half full.   Grambling State's marching band was the half time entertainment.

Wow....and now  today!    Just the biggest event...on the planet!

Sit your shrimp and chicken the commercials.....and enjoy!
