We humans.....are a very rare breed.
Nike comes out with a new Air Jordan basketball shoe.....and all hell breaks loose.
I .....just .....don't get it.

It .....is a sneaker......a shoe....a little rubber....some plastic.....a shoe.
One for the right foot....one for the left foot. It covers your toes.....

Why?
It is cloth.......cotton....fabric.

Nike.......Makes a U-turn
This is not unprecedented....
Kobe came back.......Ray Lewis as well.
Still a bit surprising...When your name is Michael Vick....you are indeed...polarizing......

Nike re-signs Vick to endorsement deal
Terms of the deal were not released.
“Michael acknowledges his past mistakes,” Nike said in a statement. “We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.”
Vick was voted The Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year after missing two seasons and playing sparingly in 2009.
“Michael is committed to working with Nike and wants to utilize his platform as a professional athlete to have a positive impact on our youth,” said Andrew Stroth, the Chicago-based attorney who negotiated the deal for Vick.
Nike and Vick initially renewed their relationship in 2009, when the company announced it had “agreed to supply product” to the quarterback, who was not under contract. Nike has similar agreements with several athletes with whom they don’t have endorsement deals.
Vick signed a one-year contract with the Eagles in March, a few weeks after being designated as the team’s franchise player. He led the Eagles to a 10-6 record and the NFC East title after replacing an injured Kevin Kolb(notes) in Week 1.
Despite missing three games with an injury, Vick re-established himself as one of the most exciting players in the NFL. He set career highs with 3,018 yards passing, 21 touchdown passes, nine touchdowns rushing, a 62.6 completion percentage and a 100.2 passer rating.

This year's NCAA tournament is significant because it is the first in which teams are allowed to wear jerseys with the manufacturer's logo (previously they were only allowed on the shorts). And the one brand that will benefit the most is Nike.Of the 68 teams in this year's NCAA tournament, 48 schools are wearing Nike jerseys and another three are wearing the Jordan brand, which is a division of Nike. (via Sports Business Daily). On the footwear side, 52 teams are donning Nike shoes and three are wearing Jordan brand. That is 55 teams under the Swoosh umbrella.
The only other brand with a significant presence is Adidas with 12 schools wearing their shoes, and 11 of those wearing Adidas jerseys. The rest of the brands represented are Anaconda Sports, Russell Athletic, Under Armour and Crons. Surprisingly, no teams are wearing Reebok Pumps.

An Oregon.....Fashion Statement
Nike.....makes sure....Oregon gets the best....and only the best..

The University of Oregon and Nike unveiled new uniforms Tuesday that the Ducks football team will wear when they face off with Auburn on Jan. 10 in the BCS national championship game.
The uniforms, Nike's next generation of the Pro Combat line, are all white with black helmets. But the most dazzling part of the ensemble is probably the cleats and socks.
The uniform design emphasizes thermoregulation by featuring Nike Pro Deflex padding with two-way airflow to cool the body and wick away sweat. The jerseys are made of four-way stretch woven twill that sheds moisture. A Flywire collar eliminates two layers of fabric for improved breathability, providing a more stable anchor to keep the jersey in place.
The uniform also provides enhanced protection throughout the crucial "hit zone" -- between the knees and shoulders -- delivering robust padding without the bulk. Nike Pro Deflex padding has also been integrated in the hip and knee areas of the pant for crucial impact protection that stays in place. The base layer now features customizable protection, incorporating a thin, incredibly strong carbon fiber plate that comes in two different sizes and can be placed where needed.

The Battle of the Shoes
Marcus Jordan....would be just another incoming freshman basketball player....at a mid major college....if his last name was something other than....Jordan.
Seems the University of Central Florida recruited this young man to play basketball. UCF has a contract with Adidas ....where their athletes ....wear Adidas branded attire.
Marcus agreed to wear the clothing.....but not the shoes. Marcus prefers to wear his daddy's....you may know him.....and his shoe. The most famous basketball player on the planet (Sir Michael ).....and the most famous shoe.....(Air Jordan).
UFC initially said, "No problem".......We can work with Adidas........
Not so fast..........my friend.......
Adidas put their "foot" down. 
Adidas has said......."No deal".......If Marcus wants to wear Nike shoes......it will cost you $3 million in sponsorships.
So .......here is a small school........caught in the middle. And .....caught ....not doing their research......thoroughly.......They had to know ...who MJ was. They had to know......MJ's son..would only wear Air Jordan shoes.
Why recruit........a Nike athlete.......to an Adidas school?
And where.......is MJ?........and why hasn't he been heard from in all of this?
I think this just got resolved......at least for a year....(Marcus Jordan, UCF freshman, will trade his Adidas shoes for Nikes this season)........
