1940 - The New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens played in the first hockey game to be televised in the U.S. The game was aired on W2WBS in New York with one camera in a fixed position. The Rangers beat the Canadiens 6-2.

1941 - The Boston Bruins set an NHL record after going 23 games unbeaten. Their record during the stretch was 15-0-8.


1951 - The first Pan American Games opened in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

1957 - The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that baseball was the only professional sport exempt from antitrust laws.

1964 - Cassius Clay (later Muhammad Ali) became heavyweight-boxing champion in an upset victory over Sonny Liston.

1978 - O.J. Simpson was a guest on "Saturday Night Live."

1981 - The Boston Bruins and the Minnesota North Stars set a record for most penalties in a game. There were 84 penalties that totaled 392 minutes.

1989 - Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, fired head coach Tom Landry after a 29-year career.

1995 - Major league baseball announced that regular season games would be played in Hawaii for the first time.

2002 - Jayson Williams, the former NBA star, surrendered to New Jersey police. He was charged with second-degree manslaughter in the death of Costas Christofi. Christofi was killed by a shotgun that was recklessly handled by Williams. Williams was released on $250,000 bail.

2005 - It was announced that the Walt Disney Co. had agreed to sell the Anaheim Mighty Ducks to billionaire Henry Samueli and his wife Susan. Samueli's company was the operator of Arrowhead Pond, the Mighty Ducks' home arena.

If it wasn't for the fact that Orenthal James Simpson....brutally murdered two people...and got away with it....we might throw a little sympathy his way.

Here's a man that was too stupid to stay out of jail.   After the murders,  he was still a free man.   Then he gets jail time for armed robbery...stealing back some of his memorabilia.

Is a Heisman Trophy worth nine to 33 years?

That karma thing is something else.  God don't like ugly.

A "Reasonble Doubt"....& our Judicial System

Our judicial  system.......

O.J. Simpson......walked.   2 dead people......

Casey Anthony.........will walk.    1 dead child.....


Their lawyers presented their case in such a manner......it raised a ...."reasonable doubt".


Where are we in America.....where 2 people walk......not guilty.......with 3 dead bodies?

And then we have:

Michael Vick.......18 months in a federal prison.....(dog fighting).

Plaxico Burress ........jail time.....(for shooting himself). 


I guess......there was just not enough......"reasonable doubt".

Is there something wrong with this picture?

As for O. J.?

Sometimes.......you reap what you sow.......This is the ....."karma" coming back.  If this was indeed a beat-down...... O. J.   got what he deserved.

1929 - The Chicago Blackhawks played their first game at Chicago Stadium. They beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1.

1972 - The Miami Dolphins became the first NFL team to go unbeaten and untied in a 14-game regular season.

1973 - O.J. Simpson broke Jim Brown’s single-season rushing record in the NFL. Brown had rushed for 1,863 yards, while Simpson became the first NFL player to rush for more than 2,000 yards when attained 2,003 yards in a single season.

1979 - Roger Staubach (Dallas Cowboys) played his last regular season game. The Cowboys came from behind to win the game in the last five minutes.

1990 - Warren Moon (Houston Oilers) threw for 527 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs.

1991 - The Tampa Bay Lightning and Ottawa Senators were officially granted membership in the NHL.




1995 - Fox-TV aired a fight between Mike Tyson and Buster Mathis Jr. Tyson knocked Mathis out in the third round. The fight brought in Fox's highest Nielsen rating to date.

2001 - The Detroit Lions won their first game of the 2001-2002 season against the Minnesota Vikings. The Lions, after the win, had the record 1-12.

2001 - An instant replay decision led to a bottle-throwing melee in a game between the Cleveland Browns and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The decision disallowed a catch by the Browns with 48 seconds left in the game. The Jaguars won the game 15-10.





2006 - During a game in New York, a fight occurred between multiple players for the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. Ten players were ejected from the game. The NBA suspeneded everal players and both teams were fined $500,000.

With no "Dream Team".......O J ........goes to Jail

O.J. Simpson was sentenced Friday to at least 15 years in prison for armed robbery and kidnapping in a failed attempt to recover sports memorabilia from two collectibles dealers.

There will be the possibility of parole after six years, Judge Jackie Glass said.

His co-defendant Clarence "C.J." Stewart received the same sentence.

Before the judge handed down his sentence, Simpson apologized to her and the Las Vegas court after learning he won't be able to be freed on bail if he appeals.

Simpson appeared at the hearing in a blue prison jumpsuit, shackles and handcuffs.

It was as if O.J. was looking and waiting.....

For Johnnie Cochran to come running into the court room with a last ditch effort to keep him out of jail.

It didn't happen.......For one, Mr. Cochran (God rest his soul) is dead......And this was Las Vegas.......not Los Angeles.

We all knew Simpson was guilty of two counts of murder back in 1994........but he and his "Dream Team" of lawyers beat the system that for generations had beaten the black man.

This case was different..........No Court TV........No fan fare........just the law versus the evidence versus the defense. And the defense lost.

Let's hope Mr. Simpson ceases to make any more headlines and lives a peaceful and quiet life in that gray-bar hotel.

No "Dream Team".....This Time....

We have come to know him as O. J.

13 years since Mr. Simpson was acquitted of the double murder charges of his estranged wife Nicole and her friend, Mr. Goldman......

13 hours it took this jury to convict Simpson.....Guilty ........on all 12 counts....including kidnapping and armed robbery.

The 61 year old NFL Hall-of-famer, faces a possible life sentence.

Without his infamous "Dream Team" of 1995......O. J. was ........well just like us common folks.

Face it......we all knew O. J. did it! We ........as black people, applauded........because his legal team beat the legal system that had beat up blacks for a hundred years.

But .......this case was different.

There was no Johnnie Cochran........no glove that wouldn't fit........no "Dream Team".

This was a case of O. J. ........refusing to just live his life in obscurity........doing something stupid...........and forgeting who he was.

I feel sorry for his children..........they are now in their twenties........but without a mother.....and now possibly.......a jailbird dad.

I hear they are keeping Mr. Simpson isolated from other inmates .......for his own security.

What a sad ending....

Here we go.........here we go. The O. J. Simpson fiasco has taken center stage again. White people, enraged 9 years ago when he was acquitted on murder charges, see this as poetic justice. Black folks just want OJ to disappear. No matter the outcome, you can best believe Fox News will be all over this.

Date line : Jacksonville, FA. Jaguars fail to sell-out stadium for first time in 6 years. Yes, this past Sunday's game between the Falcons and the 'cats was blacked-out in Jacksonville due to NFL rules stating games must be solded out by the Friday before. Would not have been that bad.....but. NFL rules specify a 75 mile radius outside JX'ville.....so that included Savannah, GA also. No Jaguars......no Falcons for a substantial portion of north Florida and south Georgia.

Luckily for the Falcons, all games are sold out this year....but the embarressments will come with the no shows on nationally scheduled games. They have a Thanksgiving night game on the NFL Network and a Monday Nighter against the Saints. Which brings us back to Vick. No matter which side you 're on regarding Vick the person, you have to know that without him, the Falcons will be hurting and home teams the ATL plays will not sell as many tickets. There is no way if Vick was playing this past weekend in JX'ville, it would have been a sell-out.
