Love & Divorce........Dodger Style

Our only concern.....

"Who get's the L. A. Dodgers?"

From our friends at ....TMZ.com:

McCourts Declare Impasse Over L.A. Dodgers

Frank and Jamie McCourt have failed to agree on a property settlement in their divorce -- a settlement that could determine the fate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

1130_jamie_frank_mccourt_BN_TMZ_1

The McCourts had until today to accept the settlement proposal by an L.A. Superior Court judge.   Frank's lawyer says his client accepted the proposal, but apparently Jamie did not.

Jamie's resistance suggests the judge may have felt Jamie gave her rights to the Dodgers away when she signed a division of property agreement with Frank during their marriage.

So now ... another judge --  Scott Gordon of Mel Gibson fame -- will decide next month ... who gets the Dodgers.

Turning up the Heat

The Atlanta Hawks.......are not alone in being disappointing early in  this NBA season.

The Miami Heat  with their 3 superstars,  (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh)....are sitting at 8-6 after 14 games.....and the natives are getting restless.

This is the same Miami team......many thought would challenge the 72 win season of the 1995-96 Michael Jordan led Chicago Bulls.  The Bulls went 72-10 on their way to the championship.

So.....the Heat can only lose 3 more games.......the rest of the season?

We're going out on a limb......and say......"They will".

From the Miami Herald:

PACERS 93, HEAT 77

Can't keep up the pace

The Heat committed a season-high 22 turnovers in its worst game this season, and Dwyane Wade had three points on 1-for-13 shooting. - 12:42 PM ET

A Gutless....Effort!!!

Last night....at Philips Arena....The Atlanta Hawks lost to the Boston Celtics,  99-76....in a game that was not nearly that close.

Gutless......pitiful......lackluster......embarrassing.

You pick the adjective or adverb.     At the end of the 1st quarter it was 39-13,  Boston.  At the end of 3.....the Hawks trailed,  85-56.

And the Celtics did this with their best player,  Rajon Rondo,  sitting on the bench nursing a hamstring.  His replacement..... Nate Robinson (all 5' 9") ran circles around Hawk defenders and scored 16 points while dishing out 10 assists.

And the Hawks?

Joe Johnson????.....the highest paid player in the league this year.....6 points.   For the entire game.

This team is a dumpster fire.    We called it the moment the Hawks went cheap....and promoted Larry Drew from assistant to head coach.    From being these guys big brother...to now....their father.

It does not work ....at this level.    These players don't fear him....or heed him.

Last night.....the Hawks needed a swift kick in the ass from a strong head coach.

 Instead......they got this......from Drew:

Very embarrassing. Very, very embarrassing. Very embarrassing. If I had to sum it up in one word: Embarrassing.”

Mark Bradley of the AJC had this to say,  " It took the Hawks six years to stop listening to Mike Woodson. It has taken one month for them to tune out his successor. To say the effort the Hawks gave against the Boston Celtics on Monday night was amateurish is to discredit the concept of amateurism and to distort the meaning of “effort.”

Things ....We Learned......From the Week-end

In this small, southern, college town......It's unseasonably warm for November.  Thanksgiving is only a few days away....and it is 75 degrees.

We feel smarter....today.

Why?
'Cuz these are the things we learned from the week-end:

These Bengals.......are not very good:
