Who Are these Reds? And Why are they Beating up My Braves?

For most of this young MLB season....our beloved Atlanta Braves were the surprise team in the National League.   1st place Braves.....Good pitching......good hitting....good defense.

Then they go to Cincinnati......And these "Redlegs"  have beaten them 3 straight times.

Really Atlanta?

Really?

What gives?   Why can't  you beat this team?

Well.....we introduce you to ......the Cincinnati Reds......Courtesy of there online newspaper:

Five (5) Things we Learned from the Weekend

(1) The Atlanta Hawks..........laid a huge egg Sunday in game 7 of the first round NBA playoff series in Boston. Alright already..........I did pull a few muscles jumping on that Hawk bandwagon.......but........99-65? This was ugly! How ........in the name of Larry Bird........did the Celtics ever lose three games to this team? I know Boston fans are wondering.

(2) The Cincinnati Reds have got to be the worst team in baseball. Over the weekend, the Braves swept the pathetic Reds 3 games to zero...........and none were even close. I watched much of this series.....and I'm here to tell you.....The Reds can't pitch..........can't field..........and can't hit. And they made a ton of base running blunders as well. Have to feel sorry for manager Dusty Baker. He inherited a bloody mess.

(3) The Kentucky Derby is still the most exciting 2 minutes in all of sports. Big Brown ran away from the field........and our condolences are with the owners and trainers of second place finisher .....filly........ Eight Belles..........who was euthanized after breaking her two front legs.

(4) Will Junior ever win again? Dale Earnhardt, Jr came oh so close Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia..........but.......Kyle Busch spun him out with 7 laps to go. Junior was
leading the race at the time. Such is racing ..........I guess.....But it's interesting to watch grown men put each other into the wall .......and 180 mph.

(5) Kobe is the MVP.......Period....If Kobe Bryant does not win this years' NBA Most Valuable Player Award...........there's something wrong in basketball land. Kobe is the best player on arguably the best team this year. And that's enough for me.

The Reds are Color-blind....& that's a good thing

The Cincinnati Reds have hired Dusty Baker to manage their baseball team. The move was made official today, with a news conference scheduled for Monday. Baker, 58 , becomes the 60th Reds manager and the first African-American. Baker had previously led the San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs. We applaud the Reds for this hire -- plus it gets Dusty off of ESPN's Baseball Tonight -- in which Dusty never seemed comfortable with his role.
