Around the NBA

With the NBA getting into it's second week of competition, it is time to sneak a peak at the haves and have-nots of the league. There is only one undefeated team. The Boston Celtics are 4-0 after week 1. There are five winless teams. Included are the Washington Wizards, the Miami Heat, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Seattle Supersonics, and the Golden State Warriors. Washington is just not a very good team. Gilbert Arenas is a good player, but he can not do it alone. Miami is missing their star guard Dwyane Wade, but has been in every game so far. Golden State is having a typical Warrior season. Can you name three players on their roster? Minnesota and Seattle traded away their lone superstars to Boston in exchange for several B-list players. Both are winless while the Celtics are off to their best start in 20 years.

The Detroit Pistons appear to be a notch ahead of the league. At 4-1 , they sit atop of Central Division. The Pistons improved themselves in the off season with the addition of free agent Jarvis Hayes (formerly of the Wizards). Hayes is a solid player who fits in with Detroit's team defense style.

Kobe Bryant is leading the league is scoring......again. In the season opener, against the Houston Rockets, Bryant was booed at home.....but after he poured in 45 points the boos quickly turned to cheers.
