Swift Justice!

A great day...not for just the NBA..but for all of the sports world.

We applaud you....Commissioner Adam Silver!

From the Huffington Post:

Game 5: Hawks beat Pacers 107-97!

The Atlanta Hawks beat the Indiana Pacers in Indiana - again! Now lets win game 6!
Forward, Paul Millsap takes it to the hoop!

Now...Do You Believe?

Mind boggling...Extra ordinary...Bizarre....Truly unbelievable!

Things being said about this Atlanta- Indianapolis series.

Still...on the national stage...the ATL is getting little love.  It's all about the monumental collapse of the Pacers...the number one seed.

From last night:

Three Hits: Hawks continue road success against Pacers
For the third time this month, and second time in the postseason, Atlanta has gone to Indianapolis and come away with a win. This time it was a dominating 107-97 victory in Game 5 that puts the Hawks one win away from the second round.

Don't Look Now...But These Braves are 17-7

17 wins...7 losses.  The 2nd best record in all of baseball.  We had a feeling the Atlanta Braves would be decent this year...but.

Hey...as Bill Parcells would say, "You are what your record says you are"!

single in 10th lifts Braves past Reds

APR 27, 5:45p ET | Cory McCartney
Three Cuts: Freeman
It took 10 innings before anyone's bats could come through. But Freddie Freeman delivered with a walk-off single as the Braves beat the Reds 1-0 in a game dominated by starters Johnny Cueto and Julio Teheran.

Just Another Stupid...Old White Man

By now, everyone ...everyone who does not live under a rock...or in the wilderness of Australia or Africa...has heard the latest fiasco in the sports world.

One old white dude...Donald Sterling...allegedly...made some quite unpopular comments relating to blacks...and more specifically...to one Magic Johnson.

Here is our take...and a few facts:

#1.   Is it really his voice.   TMZ.com?  Really

#2.  This was...a private conversation...between Sterling and his 1/2 Mexican, 1/2 Black girlfriend.

#3.  How does this sh*t...get out?

#4.  Donald Sterling is what he is.  A rich Jewish white man who may not hate Blacks... But he isn't inviting any over for dinner any time soon.

#5.  The NBA knows...and knew who Donald Sterling is and was.

#6.  Before this year...after the Los Angeles Clippers started winning...nobody in the general public knew who this guy was.

#7.  As long as their paycheck never bounced....the Clippers players and coaches never complained before.

#8.  Mr. Sterling...this coming week will read a prepared statement...apologizing profusely...Bank on it.

#9.  If the NBA tries to take his team from him...Mr. Sterling will sue the hell out of the NBA...and win.

#10.  The Clippers were so motivated today...Right?   Lost 118-97.

We...Really Wanna Believe...But...

Could it be?  Will it be?

We really wanna believe...Believe in these Hawks...But...

History has made us ...just a little bit cautious when it comes to pro sports in the ATL.

But...here is the reality.

Holding 2-1 series lead, Hawks not usual No. 8 seed
The Atlanta Hawks are playing like the team that held onto the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference before a string of injuries. Holding the series lead against the top-seeded Indiana Pacers, this is not your typical No. 8 seed, writes John Manasso.

Pounding A Pacer...Literally!

A very high five...to the public relations brass of the Atlanta Hawks.  Wished we'd thought of this.

Check it out...from NBA.com:

Hawks let fans pound a Pacer

By Lang Whitaker, NBA.com

pacerpoundBLOG
ALL BALL NERVE CENTER — The Atlanta Hawks currently have a 2-1 lead over the Indiana Pacers, which is probably the most surprising result of the playoffs thus far. Yes, the Pacers have struggled recently, but the Hawks are still the 8 seed and are playing without their All-Star center, Al Horford, who is out injured.
On Saturday afternoon, the Hawks will host the Pacers for Game 4 of the series, when they try to take a 3-1 lead. And before the game, the Hawks are going to let their fans pound a Pacer, literally, all for a good cause.
This Pacer is a 1976 Pacer — no, not a member of the ’76 Pacers, but an AMC Pacer car.
According to the Hawks…
For a donation of $5, you can take a swing at the car pictured above (horrible Pacers colors by the way), and your donation will go to the Atlanta Hawks Foundation.
The car will be set up outside of the Philips Arena box office prior to the Hawks’ 2 p.m. tip off against the Pacers in Game 4 Saturday.  Join your fellow Hawks fans in pounding the Pacer before Atlanta aims to take a 3-1 series lead on the “other” Pacers.
The Atlanta Hawks Foundation, by the way, is pretty amazing.  It aims to improve quality of life of Georgia youth by inspiring them to develop a passion for learning and a commitment to physical fitness and recreation, so your money is going to help Atlanta-area children.

Game 3: The Hawks lead the Pacers 2-1 in Series!

Another night of basketball and the Hawks beat the Pacers 98-85 in Atlanta!

Slow Your Roll....Hawks Fans

The ATL was abuzz with game 1 with the Indiana Pacers..."Hawks Win"!

Well...reality has just set in.

These Hawks...our Hawks...are an under .500 team...an 8th seed.

The only legitimate All-Star...Al Horford.... has been injured for months...not playing in this series ...

These Hawks...are not very good.  They caught "lightning in a bottle"  for one night.

Let's not confuse them with the Miami Heat.

Three Hits: Second-half scoring drought dooms Hawks in Game 2
With a lead at halftime, it looked like Atlanta would return to Philips Arena with a 2-0 lead in its playoff series with Indiana. Instead, after being outscored 31-13 in the third quarter of a 101-85 loss, the series is now tied 1-1.
