In this small southern college town, it is a cool damp Monday in December. The college football regular season is over. The NFL is down to it's final 3 weeks...and the NBA is off and running.
Some things we learned over the past few days:
And the final 4 is?

At Least...One "Leg"...is Working
No stopping the hormones of a 20 year old male. Last time we saw Louisville guard, Kevin Ware...he had just suffered a gruesome broken leg injury.
Leave it to our friends at TMZ.com to find out about his sex life:

Hump Day News & Views
We are suffering in this small southern college town. It's raining pollen...People with swollen eyes and stuffy noses are all around us. Sinus infections? Yeah! Constant sneezing? Yeah!
In all my years....I have never seen the pollen count this high. Our cars are yellow with this stuff. It's blowing in the wind.
You go outside....and wow! Yellow pollen dust goes up your nostrils. Your head aches. Your lungs congest...I personally have had 3nose bleeds...within the hour.
But...it is ...Hump Day. So.....let's ....hump:
Ho hum...UConn wins another women's title:

And Then There Were Two
Two weeks ago...this madness known as March began. 68 teams...then 64 when those ridiculous play-in games were done.
Then 32....and the sweet 16.
The Elite 8!
The Final 4!
And now?

Fox News...Misses the Point...Again!
We don't watch Fox News. But...we have friends and informers that do. And once again the talking stiffs at Fox were the same old right wing republican spokespersons blaming the left and the democrats for this Rutgers coach getting fired...for being quite stupid.
Leave it to our guy Jon Stewart to set the record straight:

Hired...to be Fired
It has happened again. Big time college basketball coach...given his walking papers.
This time it is a friend of ours...Tubby Smith.
Big time coach....small minded school ...as in Minnesota.
Minnesota...your mistake. You just let go one hell of a coach.

The State of UGA Basketball
Yes ...this is a football school. Yes...basketball is secondary. But I watched this game live. Georgia gave their all...had a chance to win at the end.
And then this.
Seems Georgia made a deal with the "football gods"....they're a pretty premier program.
But...the "basketball gods"....seem to frown upon Athens when it comes to winning meaningful games.
Take a look at this fiasco:

A "Dog Day"...Night
Strange night. A Georgia basketball team beat Kentucky. The big blue. The defending National Champs.
The University of Georgia views its men's basketball team as an after thought. Something to bide ones time before the main course....FOOTBALL.
Georgia is a mediocre 16-16...in a so-so conference.
But hey...they beat Kentucky:
Finish with flourish: Georgia tops Kentucky in last home game

Congrats! Andy Landers!
We have on occasion, been kind of rough on the subject of women's basketball. But, be that as it may, we must recognize a very special feat.
Last night, coach Andy Landers of the University of Georgia Lady Bulldogs earned his 800th career win.
Coach, we salute you!

Showmanship...over Sportsmanship
Okay, was this "sportsmanship"...or "showmanship"? I can't imagine scoring 138 points in one game.
Heck, I doubt if I scored that many points in an entire season.
But this guy did. So we will applaud him.
