Just a few thought..........on a Hump Day....
I...... think....Isiah Thomas is going to be fired.
Today, the New York Knickerbockers hired long time NBA front office man, Donnie Walsh (Knicks hire Walsh as president ).
Walsh, recently an executive with the Indiana Pacers, agreed to become the pre
sident of basketball operations for the woeful Knicks.
This is interesting it that Walsh hired Thomas as head coach in 2000 while with the Pacers. At the time Walsh said, "Thomas has a great basketball mind."
What a difference 8 years can make. Walsh may now have the unenviable task of firing a friend. Something has to be done. The Knicks have not won a play off game under the reins of Thomas........as either president or coach.
I have always admired Thomas........shucks..........we both were point guards.....and both wore the number 11. As a player, he would challenge the "trees" underneath the basket....was fearless in his drives to the basket.......and was never afraid to put up a game winning shot.
But as an NBA manager and coach..........only wins count. Injuries.......... salary cap issues......doesn't matter. You are held accountable as the GM and coach......... And in both..........Isiah Thomas has failed.

No joke..........at press time, these Hawks are holding on to the eighth play off spot. At 34-40, the Hawks have a three game lead over the Indiana Pacers and the New Jersey Nets. And....they have won 4 straight. Go figure.

As happens in every opening series here lately...........rain, snow, and postponements.......
Seems the powers that control Major League Baseball don't truly understand weat
her patterns. Weather patterns that have gone on for centuries.......In late March and early April.......there is cold and snow and rain in the northeast. Yet MLB keeps scheduling season openers in places like Cleveland, New York, Detroit, and Cincinnati.
The solution is so simple..........it's scary ............Duh........
How's this?
Why not schedule the early season games to be played in ............(1) a warm weather city.....or (2) a domed stadium city?
But..........duh............that just makes entirely ............too much sense!
70 degrees........and nice....in this southern college town.....
I have not yet planted my veggie garden...........but this past weekend........I did fire up the rotor tiller and plowed up my two future gardens. Lot of work..........Next week, I'll lay some seeds.........put on a little fertilizer........and sit back and let Mother Nature work her magic .

When is the human race in this great country of ours is going to realize..........the most dangerous obstacle on our highways today..........is ...........a white male (18-25)..........driving ....either a V-8 monster truck.....or one of those power sports cars......
