We're a bit late, but we want to congratulate the San Francisco Giants for winning the 2014 World Series. They beat the Kansas City Royals.

Ray Rice was cut from the Ravens on Monday after TMZ posted a video of him assaulting his then-fiancee in an elevator in an Atlantic City casino. Shortly after, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced he was suspended from the league indefinitely.
His wife, Janay defends her husband.
"To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his a** off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific [sic]. THIS IS OUR LIFE!" she wrote in an Instagram posted today.

In this small southern college town...the natives are all giddy about their beloved UGA Bulldogs. We had a great Holiday Week-end...with our family. Loved it all.
So on this Hump Day...let us see what we are following.
We didn't get an InVite;

Leave it to Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys to make a splash in the Michael Sam media reality show.
Today the Cowboys signed Sam to a practice squad contract. Worth roughly $96,000. What Jerry is really hoping for is the sale of Sam's jersey...to the tune of a few thousand. And the media circus that will follow.
Jerry loves attention. His team is not very good. Sam...was a decent college player... but got beat out in St. Louis...by better players. He is not big enough to be a defensive lineman...not fast enough to be an elite linebacker...A...."tweener".
We here were rooting for him. But this is a business. Gay Pride...does not make the NFL.
Sam...we applaud you for trying.

Todd Gurley....he is a coming. For all the off season hype...This may be the real deal.
Saturday...between those vaunted hedges at Sanford Stadium in Athens...Sir Todd was indeed special.
But...lets put the brakes on.
Just one game. Don't get all giddy.
But...damn it was fun to watch!

We have seen this before....Our Braves...of the ATL.
Win some lose some. But really? These Braves were no-hit Monday...3 hit Tuesday.
They just...can't hit!
Buy today...at least they got a win.

Kevin Ward Jr., 20, was hit and killed Saturday night (8/9/14) during a sprint car race Canandaigua Motorsports Park in upstate New York. NASCAR driver Tony Stewart was driving the car that killed Ward. Ward had climbed from his car after a wreck and was standing on the track when he was hit and thrown several yards.

Today's Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Ceremony...Had quite a "Georgia on My Mind" feeling.
Consider this: Tom Glavin, Greg Maddux and Bobby Cox all played or coached in Atlanta.
Joe Torre played and later managed in Atlanta. Tony La Russa spent a year with the Braves as a player.
And...the "Bit Hurt" himself...Frank Thomas...was born in Columbus, Georgia.
But our three...deserve their due justice:

"The Broncos are very saddened that Mr. Bowlen is no longer able to be part of the team's daily operations due to his condition," the team said in a statement. "We continue to offer our full support, compassion and respect to 'Mr. B,' who has faced Alzheimer's
disease with such dignity and strength."

Amy Hastings was the fastest woman and Christo Landry was the fastest man. It took me almost two hours to walk, but I still got a t-shirt!
