The Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team is relevant... once again. And that is a good thing for College Football.
In this country there is a love-hate relationship with this school never seen by any other institution.
Notre Dame last played for a title in 1988. Some 24 years ago. The Irish have survived the likes of Charlie Weis, Ty Willingham and Bob Davie....who all had winning records, but could not elevate the program and were eventually fired.
Enter Brian Kelly. He has succeeded in changing the culture. He has made believers of his players and has Notre Dame once again at the door of a National Championship.

Relevant....Once Again?
When the season started, many pundits tabbed U.S.C. as the top team.
Instead, Notre Dame entered Saturday’s game undefeated, and left that
way, too, en route to the national title game in January.
