Things....Learned....From the Week-end .....that was...

In this small,  southern, college town.......Fall is officially here.   Leaves are falling.... The natives are getting restless.    Their beloved "Dawgs"......are 0-3......in the SEC.

What did we learn?


Georgia......is not only......not very good.....but.....borderline bad:

  • Anyone who watched the debacle in Starkville can bear witness to the previously moribund Mississippi State offense grinding the Georgia defensive front into ...
    STARKVILLE, Miss. – Not since 1951 had Mississippi State fans enjoyed a win against Georgia at Scott Field. And not since 1974 had they witnessed a victory against UGA anywhere.

    But on a hot and humid Saturday night, that all changed when the homestanding Bulldogs sent Georgia packing following a dominating 24-12 victory to the delight of an enthusiastic crowd of 56,721, the third-largest in school history.

    The win snapped a nine-game losing streak to the visiting Bulldogs, while improving MSU’s record to 2-2 overall, 1-2 in SEC play.

    N.C. State-Georgia Tech: Wolfpack Wins Big Against Tech 45-28 ...

    Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Russell Wilson threw for 368 yards and three touchdowns, leading the NC State Wolfpack to a 45-28 win over ACC rival Georgia Tech at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
    NC State (4-0, 1-0 ACC) is now the lone remaining unbeaten team in the conference, with Boston College being shutout by Virginia Tech Saturday afternoon. Wilson completed passes to 11 different receivers in the win, while Mustafa Greene caught four of those passes for 41 yards and also rushed for 68 yards and a score.


    The Atlanta Braves.....just want to play.....162 games:

    These Braves want no part of the post season.....They're trying very hard....not to get into the play-offs:

    Atlanta Braves, the playoff-hopeful team, lost to the Washington Nationals as Ian Desmond's two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted the Nationals in the rubber match of a three-game series.
    The Braves have lost five of six and sit six games behind the Phillies in the NL East. Atlanta is a half-game behind San Francisco in the wild card standings. The Giants are currently playing the Rockies.
    Nyjer Morgan and Mike Morse each had an RBI for the Nationals, who have won five of six.
