A Different Kind of Pay-stub

In case you missed this...we did.   Seems a Major League baseball player...one Andrew McCutchen of the Pittsburgh Pirates left his pay-stub in a locker room.

Of course ...in this social media of a world we live in...someone found it...photographed it...and...new word..."interneted" it.

But this is not your average pay-stub.  Mr. McCutchen makes $10,208,333 a year.  And...he gets paid every two weeks.

The gross pay...for these two weeks was $820,659.88....  Yes...and it will be this way 26 times this year.

The net?   $427,098.49.   Look this stub below.  These ball players have to pay taxes in every state they play in.  It is amazing what comes out of that gross!

We Came...We Saw...We Lost

In a perfect world...it would have been ..."We came...we saw...we conquered".

But for our Atlanta Hawks...We came ...we saw...we lost. 

This Atlanta team won 60 games.   This Atlanta team was the best of the East.  This Atlanta team won 19 straight games.  This Atlanta team...was a "team".

So...what the hell happened?

What got Atlanta to 60 wins....team play...no superstars...eventually was their downfall.

For in the NBA...in the play-offs...a team....a team...must have a superstar.   A star who can take you down the stretch...in that all important 4th quarter.  A superstar that can put the dagger in.  Can make a 3...Can get a call.  

These Atlanta Hawks...well...there are a lot of good players....they play hard.

But when all is said and done...no superstar emerged.

Atlanta....good regular season story.  Play-offs?   Just an average team...that just got swept!

The Atlanta Hawks...of the "Association"  would be playing in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals...We would all have begged to differ.

Fast forward to now...today.  For the Atlanta Hawks...have come from the bottom...

Now we here!

We....the ATL...are in the final 4 of the best basketball teams on the planet.

An Emotional...RollerCoaster!

Game 5...in the NBA Conference Semi-Finals...In Atlanta...At the "High-Light Factory".

This was ....a game!   If you are...a Hawks fan?   You felt...what we felt.   A game in which our beloved Hawks at times looked unbeatable....At times you wondered why they were even in the play-offs.

The Hawks would reel off 10-15 straight points....only to go into a funk.  Not score for 5 to 6 minutes.

Up 9 early....down 6 at the half.  Down 12 in the 3rd quarter....up 1 to start the 4th.

8 seconds left...Paul Pierce hits a 3!   Washington up by 2.  Atlanta comes down and scores with under 2 seconds left.

Hawks win!

Major League Baseball...Is Too White & Too Old Fashioned!

But don't just take our word for it.  Personally...I enjoy baseball.  I can actually say,  I can watch an entire game.  My daughter likes baseball.  

Unfortunately...we are in the minority.  Major League Baseball...has lost an entire generation.  And 90 % of that lost....is with the black folks and young folks.
