The Sooner ....the Better

Wesley......

Wake up.    You were found guilty......You're dealing with the FED's....Your appeals have run out.....

Do the time......You do realize....if you'd served your original sentence....way back when...you would be getting  out this spring......clear & free.

From our friends at TMZ.com:

Wesley Snipes -- I Won't Be Home for the Holidays

Wesley Snipes won't be getting the gift of freedom for Christmas -- because a judge just DENIED the actor's request to have his surrender date pushed back until after the holidays.

Wesley filed the request last week -- asking a federal judge in Florida if he could begin his three-year prison sentence for tax evasion on January 6, 2011 instead of December 9, 2010.

Wesley's argument ... he has "four minor children" and didn't want to get locked up "in the middle of the holiday season."

But a judge didn't see it that way -- because according to documents filed today in Florida, the judge denied the request citing the fact that Wesley was originally sentenced over two-and-a-half years ago ... and therefore the actor had "all of that time to place his affairs in order."

The judge also wrote, "The sooner he begins his sentence, the sooner it will end."

Sorry Wes......we agree with the judge.

You Can Run.......But You Can't Hide....From ..."The Man"

"The Man"....in this case ...is Uncle Sam....The United States government...The IRS....

Just ask Al Capone.....

You don't pay your  taxes?   You go to jail.

Mr. Snipes should know better.   And now he'll have 3 years to ponder his actions.

actor Wesley Snipes
This is what happens when you don’t pay your taxes. You go directly to jail. This is exactly where actor Wesley Snipes is finally heading.

According to Us Magazine, the actor was ordered by a federal judge on Friday to immediately surrender to authorities and begin serving his three-year sentence for tax-related crimes.

Lawyers for the 48-year-old actor asked Judge William Terrell for a new trial, which was rejected by the Ocala, Fl. Judge. The judge wrote his decision saying that it’s time for the actor’s sentence to be enforced.

The actor was convicted back in 2008 on three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file his income tax returns.

The actor’s lawyer, Daniel Meachum, stated that Snipes wasn’t ready or prepared for a quick action from the judge. According to Meachum, Snipes is in Atlanta filming his new movie, “Master Daddy.”

Meachum said in a statement:
“Wesley is very disappointed but staying strong and positive.”

Yes Wesley......it's kind of a pain.....but all of us.....residing in the US....must file a tax return.....every year.   You included.

White Men Can't Jump......But they can sure issue a Sentence

Actor Wesley Snipes found out the hard way...........Don't mess with the Feds...........

Yesterday, a federal judge sentenced Snipes to 3 years in prison for willfully failing to file tax returns. The sentence was handed down by Judge William Terrell Hodges of Federal District Court.

Mr. Snipes was convicted in February on 3 counts of tax evasion .....thus the 3 years....(plus a year of probation) and will still have to pay the government some $17 million in back taxes......

Wesley, Wesley, Wesley..........Don't you know the government has shown no mercy in regards to young, black, and successful mega stars? ( See Michael Vick.....or Barry Bonds.......or Marion Jones).

These were not even felony charges...........misdemeanors........

And Mr. Snipes got three years...........and a $17 million fine. For a misdemeanor!!!! Vick committed a felony.....and got ....what? 18 months?

I think ........over the years......this judge had seen too many films featuring Mr. Snipes beating up on white guys........ and took a personal responsibility to right a wrong shared by white Americans all across the country. "Somebody put that uppity Negro in his place."

Mr. Snipes' lawyers will appeal the case.......hoping for an acquittal ..............Or .....at the least.....a sensible sentencing.
